Using this kit you can just about cast any original part including figures, small sculptures, figurines, scenario models or even engineering components or use them to create just about anything required in the moulding making industry, engineers can use the process as part of their rapid prototyping work whilst artists can easily make copies of their original work as samples or demonstration pieces.

With the original part removed from the silicone the mould can then be used to create accurate and detailed reproductions of the original part by pouring mixed casting resin into the mould. The resin included in the kit is a very easy to use Fast Cast polyurethane resin which will flow easily into the fine surface details of the silicone mould and then cure quickly (within an hour) to a strong plastic copy of the original part.

High strength silicone mould making rubber. Our silicone has been formulated for easy mixing by hand, with colour coded components, giving a visual aid to ensure mixing is adequate. The two components mix easily and because of the low viscosity most grades can be used without processing in a vacuum chamber. This silicone is suited for the detailed reproduction of figures, art objects and similar items.

Applications include : Patterns, Negatives, Castings, Models, Vacuum forming tools, prototypes etc.

Brilliant introduction to resin casting
16 November 2023  |

I looked at a few casting starter kits, this one was a good price and seemed more serious than some of the hobby kits. The item arrived quickly and securely packed. This was my first resin casting and silicone moulding experience and I am amazed at the results I am getting already. My very first mould and cast gave great results. I simply followed the instructions. I'm casting a small replacement guitar logo in 3D relief. I made the right product choice brilliant!

Excellent for Beginners!
24 February 2018  |

I wanted to make some small models for a project but found that starter kits elsewhere were too big or expensive - this kit was the perfect size for a small trial. The instructions provided on the product page were also very helpful! I've recommended it to my friends who were all impressed!
