Black standard isophthalic brushing polyester gelcoat.
Designed as a Black general purpose moulding gelcoat for hand layup use in GRP construction.
Suitable for application by brush / roller to give an even film, free from air and drainage with excellent opacity. Shows excellent weathering properties.
Formulated to cure at temperatures > 16°C and needs only the addition of catalyst prior to use. Medium activity methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) is the recommended catalyst at an addition level of 2% by weight to ensure sufficient cure at room temperature. For best results it should be applied on to a clean polished mould in one layer of 375-500 pms (microns)/0.375-0.5mm or 460-610g per square metre. Where double gelcoating cannot be avoided the first layer must be applied to a minimum thickness of 375pm (microns)/0.375mm or 460g per square metre.
